This work uses “walls” as a metaphor for memory, revealing how time leaves its marks through layers of structure. Memories may appear to fade, erode, or slip away with the passing years, yet the moment one moves gently through their cracks, those seemingly lost fragments quietly resurface. Visually, the piece is built from walls of different textures, eras, and lighting conditions, creating a cinematic atmosphere suspended between dream and reality. Soft light, deep perspective, and subtle shifts in tone evoke an image that feels like a dream being recalled—blurred yet tangible, distant yet intimately close. As the main visual for the Microwave International New Media Arts Festival 2025, this design extends the festival’s spirit of “thinking through images.” It invites viewers to reposition themselves within the gaps between city, memory, and individual consciousness. Rather than nostalgia, the work speaks of passage—an act of crossing.
